Lucy Ardizzone

I'm Lucy, an experienced pattern cutter offering bespoke pattern cutting, sampling and small-scale production services from my studio in the centre of historic Norwich, Norfolk

With a decade of professional experience in pattern cutting and making, I've contributed my skills to well-known fashion brands. Prior to that, I dedicated several years to the world of film and television costume, gaining valuable insights into imaginative garment construction methods

Indeed "A Fine City," I returned to Norwich with my son just before the onset of the lockdown and now am delighted to have established Norwich Maker Studio here

ABOUT NORWICH MAKER STUDIO

Workroom Services

Running a workroom that offers pattern cutting, sampling, and small-scale production services, my clientele includes individual customers seeking unique dressmaking services, as well as emerging and established brands looking to develop and produce garments. Whether starting from scratch or refining existing styles, I thrive on translating concepts into tangible, well-crafted garments.

Education and Commitment

A graduate of Kingston University in Womenswear (2005), my commitment extends beyond individual projects. I am eager to establish a workspace in Norwich, providing an opportunity for local skill development in garment making—an initiative currently absent in the area.

Sustainability Advocate

Passionate about contributing to a more sustainable fashion industry, I actively promote UK-made alternatives to the mass-produced, fast-fashion culture that can prevail. If you're seeking a meticulous and experienced pattern cutter who blends traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, I'm here to bring your design visions to life.

Work Process: Turning Ideas into Reality

Navigating a project with me involves an initial discussion to understand your idea, whether it's a concept, sketch, photograph, or an existing garment for reference. We establish timeframes and costs during this stage.

Moving forward, I create an initial pattern based on specific measurements or blocks. Upon finalization, a prototype (toile) is crafted, typically using calico or a fabric that mimics the final material's characteristics. For projects where a toile isn't necessary or for single garments, we proceed to cutting and crafting the final garment. My goal is to provide a seamless process, transforming your ideas into impeccably tailored reality.
